Aimy McAninly

Aimy has worked in a wide range of educational environments over the last 10 years. She loves working with young people who have experienced difficulties in mainstream school education and believes her place is within learning environments that cater for those who have, in the past, been disenfranchised by educational systems. She is driven by a focus on trauma-informed practice, working in environments requiring flexible delivery. She is a passionate art teacher, working within a child-centred, unconditional positive regard approach to her teaching. Aimy’s work recently has also focused on Respectful Relationships education, Gender Equity and Consent education. Aimy also teaches at Deakin University with a focus on Inclusive Education- engaging in conversations about what inclusive practice looks like from Early Learning through to Higher Education with practising and pre-service teachers. In all her work, she is deeply inquisitive about humans, loves to learn about anything and is wildly curious.

Aimy’s qualifications include: Masters of Education; Graduate Certificate in Creative Therapies, Graduate Diploma in Adolescent Health and Wellbeing; Masters of Teaching (Secondary/Applied Learning); Bachelor of Interactive Media (Graphic Design/Animation).
